On April 19, 2020, while alone on the golf course with my dad, he had a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). I had been hitting a few shots from around 100 yards out when it happened. I ran up to the putting green and checked for his pulse. Upon finding none, I started to give him CPR before my mom and EMS arrived. Thankfully, after over a week in the hospital and many months recovering, he survived with no deficits, which was truly a miracle.
As a result of this incident, I decided to organize the Chip in for SCA. Please join me in supporting this cause to ultimately lower the death rate of those who have sudden cardiac arrest by emphasizing the need for early CPR. To learn more, please click here.
As of right now, we are not a nonprofit; however, all proceeds go to charity. We are currently working to achieve 501c3 status.
In 2021, they went to the American Heart Association and the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation. This year, all proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association and Parent Heart Watch. To learn more about these organizations, please click here.
So far, after only one tournament, we have raised $31,018.32.
The tournament will be held at Ardea (formerly, East Lake Woodlands) Country Club on the South Course. It will be a 10am shotgun on May 17, 2024.
